well....did you already put it in? are you driving your car? did you get a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT?
if you already put it in and you didn't get a check enging light...which I doubt you will with the drop in...all is good and just drive and be happy...
IF you havn't put it in.....do so and just drive your car as normal....
IF by the odd chance your check engine light should come on...do the following.
remove the NEGITIVE terminal of your battery.....get in the car and press the breaks a few times (this discharges some capacitors), let the car set for about 10 minutes or so....then reconnect the battery and your good to go...
oh yeah...you will have to go through the PIA of resetting up your radio....i hate that! lol

oops forgot something Jason.....Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.
make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.
Welcome!!

THANKS....Sir Nuke, I have been waiting for your greeting for a long time.. lol
in fact, I PUT it in already....and did not get the engine check light.....feel slightly difference just like other mentioned.... oh, I got it online with free shipping.. less than 30 bucks..
Btw, I also bought one K&N for my gf's 2001 GTi, more expensive, 50% more than the one for p5.........Anyway, installed it yesterday as well..I found something "
1, the air filter house is fixed by screws..not like ours by clips...
2. Even with the screws, the hosue is NOT SEALED. I found leaves in it...YES, it has LEAVES in it....I thought it's my fault by not checking it regularly...
3. The K&N filter for the GTI came along with a rubber seal with double-sided tape and a tube of grease.. Ours only has the filter without rubber nor grease.
4. I cleaned the house and put on the seal on the cover of house, apply some grease on the house, then put the filter in..tightened the screws.
5. test drive...WHAT A DIFFERENCE...I believe it's partially because the old filter sucks..but the k&n air filter did make a difference...
Best

hey, man,
I won't say that it will have "significant" difference...but it does has slightly difference..at least for me. Compare with a new air filter comes with the car, K&N has a better response when I kick the gas pedal...
Just give it a try..
