To sunroof or not to sunroof?

Ok, so I think I've decided I want a P5...

I drove an `03 autostick the other day, great car, boring tranny, holding out for a manual...

I've been kinda hung up on finding one with a sunroof. I've located a red `02 w/o sunroof for a good price. Most of my Honda's have had sunroof's and I wish I could have afforded a Titan with a sunroof. I've really missed having one. I'm 5'11" and I plan on auto-x'ing this vehicle as well as daily commuting. Should I embrace the no sunroof in exchange for extra head room with a helmet or is that something I even need to worry about in a P5?

I guess my question to spirited owners with sunroof's is how tall are you and do you have clearance issue's with a helmet?

Thanks in advance...

I'm 6'2 and I fit fine in my stock-seated, sunroof'ed P5, even with a helmet.

On the track, it's good to have the roof open anyway(endless head and helmet room!)...just in case something bad happens, raining glass from above is no fun.

I always thought that sunroofs were way over priced or just a waste of money in any climate.

5'11" here... no problem with clearance here, and I LOVE my sunroof!

Thanks for the responses, good to know that there are some enthusiasts on the site...

I think Ima hold out for an `03 with a sunroof. I've located a silver one in AL, about 2 hours from Memphis...

Overall I'll probably be waiting to make sure Nissan buys my Titan back. I dont wanna finance a P5 only to have them decide to replace the truck instead of buy it back and then have two car payments, along with a big mortgage payment :YIKES ...

When we bought our P5 I made sure I added the moonroof. I keep my shade open year round and it makes the inside of the car brighter as well as making it seem bigger. I also tinted it to protect the interior leather. Only when it is blazing sun do I close the shade and only part way. Got to protect what little I have left on the top

I've been told and also read that our P5s have moonroofs not sunroofs. The difference is that a moonroof you can see out of while closed and a sunroof you cannot.

Cheers
Chris
