Sport20 Familia is available awd. different cams/pistons/intake manifold/ecu and a few other things give it 170hp. I don't think they had awd 323F like in Germany or other parts of Europe so yeah it would be set up for the wrong side of the road and dangerous to drive here.

Dangerous to drive? What are you talking about? It would fun as hell. So I suppose it's time to start searching around other continents for cars.

Depending on your state laws it may or may not be legal to drive a RHD car on the street. In Iowa it's legal but you have to have a giant sticker on the back windshield that says "Right Hand Drive". Your state may require you to do a LHD swap.

Dangerous to drive on streets in the U.S. --for track use it would be fine. Your visibility is kinda f'ed.. like to make a right turn at an intersection, you look to your left to see if there's traffic. Well if you were in a JDM-import car you'd have less visibility doing so.

same goes for making any turns really.. there's plenty of reasons it is illegal in some places.

a JDM SPort20 would be slow as *****. Now a sport20 with a turbokit would be a different story however you still have the same weak engine.

Sport20 w/ MSP turbokit ftw....but it wont match up correctly.

The turbo kit should match up ok. The engine doesn't switch sides or anything. --the ECU would be a no-go.. not that it's good, but it's simple and no hassle

oh and EGR stuff crap.. yeah dunno :P

I don't think driving a RHD car would be all that difficult. I mean, maybe at first, but you'd quickly get used to it. I mean, I can drive big rigs legally. (Class A baby) and it took some time but I can drive those no problemo.

Ya know, go ahead and add me to that short but probably ever growing list. I gotta say BS too. I mean, I used to never drive hard in my Toyota Tacoma. I changed the oil RELIGIOUSLY. Never have I seen it anywhere near amber after 3K miles.

I have the 1.6L in my Protege and have run Mobil 1 synthetic since i twas new back in 2000 and have 141,000 miles on it and its great , no problems. As far as the oil being amber , no its black when i change it but on the dip-stick its amber , but you gotta remmeber that on the stick its so little oil that it may seem amber . Maybe thats what he meant. Anyone know why Mazda said no synthetic? Where did this info come from?

I too have used ONLY 100% synthetic since our 2000 P5 was new. It has approx 78K miles and no problems (other than 1 battery).
