Vacuum pressure

Does anyone know how much vacuum the protege 5 is supposed to pull at idle? Mine is 22in, that seems kind of high. Does that sound like my timing is off?

That sounds totally normal to me. I know I pull something around there (22-24ish) and I max out the gauge when decelerating.

no worries!

and you can't adjust timing anyway...

And it is symptom of good compression!

^^ the timing could easily be off.. all it takes is misaligning the cam gears by one tooth (which is probably almost 10 degrees of timing) between the two cams, or between the cams and the crank pulley, or both
