Vibration

I have this vibration when my car is running. Sounds kinda like it's the hood vibrating because when I pop the hood it stops. When I was driving yesterday though I noticed that it vibrates in Park and Drive but not Neutral and the vibration lessens when I let off the brake and and goes away completely when i accelerate. Any ideas what it could be?

It most likely is your hood. I have the same problem. I found out that the hood latch does not quite hold the hood down tight anymore. The steel rod that of the latch hook to seems to have lost a little bit of it's section. You can verify this my just grabbing the hood where you would normally to open it and you can wiggle it up and down and the noise of the latch hitting the hook. If you think of an easy fix aside from rewelding a new piece on let me know. I though about putting some thick foam around this area to tighten up the hood contact.

I need to go look - but are there not rubber stops you can unscrew to get the hood to secure better?

(AFAIK most cars have 'em - i don;t have car outside to go look first...)

... And can't you loosen the hood latch assy andmove it down a scooby and re-tighten?
