Wagner Motorsports Header

I ordered a header and high-flow downpipe for my 1.8L 99 ES and Wagner Motorsports are dragging their feet on it. I ordered it 2 weeks ago last Fri. I called a week after I ordered it cause they said it would be here on Thurs. They told me they were waiting for the cat and I should have it by Wed. or Thurs. They offered overnight shipping for free so I wouldn't have to wait longer. It has been 2 weeks and 3 days so far.....I can't drive my car because the flange on the downpipe(that connects to mid-pipe) broke. It's cast-iron so it can't be rigged. The thing is so loud!! Has anyone had any problems with Wagner before? What kind of power improvements should I expect? How long should it take for install? My friend works at a Firestone shop so he'll help after hours. Any help with my questions would be greatly appreciated!!

careful of the wagner header. a guy in the club has his on and it's already cracking at the welds. other than that, andy is uber busy all the time. i wouldn't be surprised if things are backlogged. have you tried contacting them again?

Did he like it before it started cracking? How much power did he gain? Did he put it through a good amount of heat cycles? Sorry i'm asking so many questions! And trust me......they will be hearing from me tomorrow! Thanx for your time!!

Craked welds? Im fixing to buy one used. I've never heard of anyone having problems with it but I don't think I have ever asked.

So is there any problems with the wagner shorty header?

I got mine in a very timely manner, went in fine, i've had it for about 4 months with no problems. As for power, there was a VERY noticable gain especially above 4k RPM. I just got the header so you're results may vary.

SOAK ALL NUTS AND BOLTS WITH WD40 A LOT PRIOR TO STARTING THE INSTALL!!!

I bought the wagner shorty and ended up breaking off 4/5 of the bolts and had to return it to buy the obx instead.....very frustrating but andy bent over backwards to help me out.

Can you explain what happened? I'm gitting one soon (I know I keep saying that but the guy is waiting for it to warm up.) and I would like to have a heade up first. Is it harder than the OBX. I put one on a car a few weeks ago for a freind here and it only took about 30 mins.

no, it's easier than an obx header....when unbolting the manifold from the pre-cat if you break the bolts on the obx it's no big deal....with the wagner header you have to re-use those studs....BE VERY CAREFULL ABOUT PULLING THE THREADS OFF OR BREAKING!!!

you have to loosen the mount for the downpipe and midpipe in order to get enough leway to remove the factory header for the wagner, IMO it was a royal pain. but was still well worth it.
