What color accent lights?

Hi, just installed some accent lighting under the dash and went with good old blue. Showed it to my girlfriend and she thinks I should have gone with orange or red to match the color of the lights in the gauges and stereo. Whatta you think?

okay for those of you who are wondering,
I ended up replacing the blue with the red and I'm glad I did. I was worried mainly because the lights in the gauges and the stereo are kinda orange-ish not really red. Turns out the lights in the kit are the same shade so it looks bitchin'. Thank you Subghetto and Inflames for the advise.

Red is definately the way to go inside. Just make sure it stays inside. That'll be a definate ticket anywhere outside. When I had my blue neons inside and a blue neon kit under my car, the cops licked their chops when they saw me coming. Needless to say, I quickly switched out my blue for green.

Wow no kidding, I always wondered about that. I live in Southern California so I'll have to look into that. Anyone out there know of the laws concerning neons?

Whenever I got pulled over, the cop gave me this reason (keep in mind this is Florida law):

"Undercar neons are illegal because they are not OEM equipment. They did not come installed on the car therefore they are illegal on the streets. Off-roading and shows are fine, but on the roads they need to be turned off."

As far as neons on the front of the car, whether it be behind the grille or on the hood, its 50/50. Some cops care and other ones don't. But I will say that most start to care towards the end of the month when they have quotas to meet. So be careful about that.

In one of my catalogs I have, there is a HU that totally illuminates RED. The faceplate is clear, but at night when its turned on, its totally lit up Red. Let me try to find the catalog for ya and I'll get back to you bout this.

I just found what I was looking for..

In the Crutchfield magazine I get, there is a receiver by Jensen thats called the "Dramatic Night-Glo" Illumination. I checked on their website and its not listed on there, but I e-mailed the people and asked if they could send me a picture or something. I gave them the part number so I should hear from them within the next day or two. Just to let you know, the price in the catalog says 119.95.

I just found it again, and its on EBAY!!! It costs only 20.50 right now with 9 bids already on it. Here is the link.....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=39758

Good luck bidding.

Thanks, looks really cool, but the faceplate doesn't detach. I wouldn't want to take the chance, not because of the deck, but the damage that can happen to the car when they break in, and butcher the dash.

Any others out there?
