what to do after the fire???
Dear all,
For those who lives in Southern California, I am thinking about what can we do with our car after the wild fire..
I mean for couple days, there are a lot of ashes ...so, should we change/clean the air filter after the fire? How about the air filter for the air conditioner ?
any comments?

I heard on the news that one of channel 4's vans stalled because of all the smoke and it ended up burning to the ground. The fires are a real tragedy, i know a few people who have been evacuated and one who house actually burned. They say that the fire is going to cost $2 billion dollars for CA, just what we need more debt. Unfortunatly federal aide does not cover everything.

I'm sure as hell going to wash my car when I'm sure theres no next to no ashes in the air. I think it'll be good to do that by the weekend. I will take a look at my air filter tomorrow, I lucked out cause I'll need to take the car in for service (15,000) in the next few weeks so I'm sure the car will make it till then.

First i would check out the Air Filter visually, to determine how dirty it really is. That news van was at the site of one of the fires constantly, it was raining (no pouring actually) ash all over. If you stayed in OC the whole time your car is likely fine. I dont know if our car has a cabin air filter or not. I have had the car for three weeks now.
