No, wrap it around where it is supposed to go on the pulley. If you clap it tight it will not move.

yup there's a nice rust-- wait nvm .. yeah there's a hook visible on that side once you have the car jacked up, it's close to the crank pulley but more near the front of the car (kinda under the bumper)

yesterday my SLS side motor mount shattered, leaving me to limp all the way home in 2nd gear (engine sagged enough that I couldn't get into any other gears).. and I'm afraid that I might have screwed and axle or something because of how much the engine had moved.. it was only like 8 miles of that o_O

AWR 95 durometer front and rear motor mounts and side inserts ordered (via www.speedcircuit.net) with rush shipping becausce I gotta get them installed by thursday at the latest.

also my corksport downpipe is officially in two pieces (and not the two pieces that you bolt together when you first get it).. I'm either going to need to de-turbo for the 10 hours+ of driving that I have to do this weekend or just suck it up and drive totally open downpipe. I gotta mount my midpipe to the chassis securely so it stops hanging down and rubbing on the chassis crossbrace all day long.

FUN TIMES WITH MY PROTEGE I'M SO GLAD I MODDED MY ECONO-WAGON!!!

Dude, I thought SLS was good stuff. Maybe I'll throw my stock mount in the back, JIC.

It is the aluminum bracket variety.. did they wise up and make a stronger bracket? I didn't even get a chance to contact them about it to see what they'll do for me. .. I can't even sell the thing in it's current state.

The issue (aside from the fact that it's a load-bearing motor mount with an aluminum sheet bracket) is that to bend the bracket it got scored pretty deep.. the first part of the crack is right along the score mark, so I could see that it goes more than 1/3 into the material.

I know some people at first got a prototype bracket that wasn't supposed to ever get shipped out.. and it was a welded steel bracket.. but still looked weak as hell.

Yes, I know AWR 95 durometer will hurt me a lot, but my car needs to remain daily driveable and not have the engine plop down because of a stupid mount failure. Plus, the stiffness will help my replacement corksport downpipe (whenever the hell that happens) not break like the first one.

120 sounds right.. it's more torque than the engine puts to the ground after all :P

If I've learned something though, it's never work on these cars with any sorta-close deadlines.. you'll shear off a bolt in haste or crossthread something or lose a part..

i've always got a deadline! lol. it sucks. we'll see, i should be fine. i'll be gettin up at like 8 so at like 830 i'll jack it up and start. so i shouldnt have a problem getting it done in time. one other thing, do i need to use an impact socket for the impact driver.... if so oops. the driver is only capable of making 200 lb ft, not 900 like the pneumatic ones. once i get it off, i'll take pictures of the stock next to the rr racing and also weigh them so we all know the differences

You might break your socket....that would probably result in you missing your deadline

i doubt it will break with only 200 at the MAX will it? plus it's a craftsman so if it breaks i'll just get a new one and try another day

got udp on...
i got it off w/o the driver. did that trick w/ the old ac belt to keep it from movin. got it off w/ a breaker bar. guess i'll take the driver back to sears and tell them i want my money back. its craftsman and it did not satisfy me. i dont notice any significant difference in the timing though...idk i'll check again later today to see if i notice it. got pics of the two next to each other and their weights as well. stay tuned for those
