driving video of broken downpipe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoHAp_D_JXY
when the audio sounds like it's clipping, that's when it went crazy loud.. as soon as I went into boost it was the craziest loudest spooling sound I've ever heard (since the downpipe was severed only an inch or two from the turbine outlet)
the second video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGlnR_wxhqs

Is the foglight-less bumper on the 99-00 the same bumper as the one with fogs? I wouldn't mind getting a 'lesser' 99 model if it was upgradable. I know the skin looks the same, and I wouldn't be afraid of drilling holes as it kinda looks like the fogs are in cups.. or are said cups a part of the skin? Those wheels look killer on a Miata, I wasn't sure if I would like them on an NB but yup.. still looks great

geez, i don't log on for like two days and kansei's getting rid of his car ![Frown](https://www.mazda3club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
so, like, yeah, the 99-00 bumper without the fog lights is the exact same as the ones with them - on the back of the bumper is a template to cut the hole out if you want to install them. then you put a little "cup" into the bumper to surround the fog light and finish it off.

It's a love/hate thing. I love looking at it, hate dealing with it's rust, love driving it, hate how slow it is sans-turbo, love.. looking at it, hate how freaking difficult it is to replace the front sway bar and listening to the rattle of my bushing-less front sway (still attached because the endlink bolts are seized and I don't feel like replacing them again), hate adding a quart of oil each time I romp on it at an autocross (I inspected the turbo and there's no oil where oil shouldn't be so it probably isn't the culprit), hate having one pristine canadian headlight and foglight and one baked-in-the-oven and 88k miles on it headlight and pitted foglight, hate the intercooler piping I haven't had time to get remade, hate the pieces of downpipe littering my garage floor, hate that I've dropped $10k+ into modding this car all for nothing, etc
I just need a mazdaspeed mx-5 (in velocity red mmmm) and then I won't be tempted to modify the car as extensively as I have this car. It's kinda too late to save my car now, everything is rusted and gross and rattling. I'll just wait for one of those TV ads saying "we'll get you financing no matter what" then go to them and be like "um yeah so I have 75k dollars in student loans, barely any income during the school year, don't own a house myself.. all I have is this here economy car as a trade-in, it's 'totally stock' --can you get me financing I can afford on a used Mazdaspeed MX-5?"
If anything it'll get them to ROFL

go to www.protegegarage.com or www.speedcircuit.net and if they don't have what you want, talk to Ken or Dana and they can probably get it for you.
p.s. my car sounds really ricey without the turbo.. I forgot how loud and annoying it was before hahaha
