Talking What kind of CF products would you like made for P5/MP3??

O.k. ladies/gentleman, yesterday I was called by dg motorsports to try out some new CF products for the P5. They want me to put CF side skirts on my ride, now Im a little skeptical about this, but I will go ahead and do it(IM crazy ). The owner saw my Autoexe front lip and immediately wanted to make it in Carbon Fiber!!!!! But we are in a dilema should the whole front lip be made in CF, or should just the little bottom portion of the lip??

I need your guys input. They also made some CF headlight covers which look sweet, I told them about eyebrows and they stated they should be ready sometime next week. Here is a pic of the CF headlight covers http://photos.yahoo.com/docrod2_99 Just click on P5 pics then on DGM PICS

Tonite I will post pics of CF sideskirts on my ride.

It must just be me cause I think the whole CF look is horrible. It looks like you wrecked your car & haven't had time to paint the replacement parts. Yeah its lighter then factory stuff but I’d have to have it painted

Youre right, but remember that it can always be used for the show seen too.

I like a little CF like on our dash. Ya I know the stuff on the dash probably isnt real.
I dont know if the people making this rear hatch are going to sell just this part but I like this. But not the whole hatch.I also like the wing in the last post!

I wonder if we could get some rear fog lights(like on European cars) put in that piece.

also, (last one ) is that the autoexe lower lip? if so, where did you get it? & how much? does autoexe have a web site?

Yeah they are 17", dropped with Eibach springs, I got the Autoexe from takakaira.com for $305.

BTW after thinking for a couple of hours I decided not to go through with the CF side skirts, particularly because my car is midnight blue, If I wouldve had a black car then I would of done it.

I would pay to get that center piece entirely in CF (or at least those two strips on the side of it). It looks like it could be done without too much trouble. Only hard part would be making the air conditioning controls look okay if you did the whole thing.

Rod, i am in agreement with bumble g, let them have a look at that autoexe wing and so if its doable. . . And as far as the covers i think most ppl would be more interested in the eyelids. Btw i think the replica lip shouldnt be rigid carbon fiber, it needs to be kinda flexiable especially if your ride is lowered

The whole Carbon Fiber scene kicked off pretty good with Honda/Acura/Eclipse/etc.. It was said to drop 1/4 mile times, yadda yadda yadda..the fact is, the hood does NOT sit right, I have yet to install one that fits just right, and being relatively lighter it vibrates like crazy when cruising down the highway. If you have some really nice stuff under your hood, don't install a Carbon Fiber hood, I have seen too many get broken into for the reason that the latch hookup on the hood can easily be broken. Carbon fiber front lips and other little stuff like that is fine, its all for looks..but the hood is a total waste of money unless you wan't that "look".. Just go with OEM parts, save yourself the headache
