what your protege 5 runs?
i've been tryin to see best times for the PR5. bone stock i ran a 17.6 but tire bounce was univoidable.
i just put intake and exhaust on my 02 PR5 haven't ran it yet but have beaten civis ls with headers intake and exhaust, corolla type-s and kept up with civic si 03............
has anyone done better and what can i do without turbo to get quicker?

p.s. I achieve my "low times" through proper launching and good shifting. Just practice some more and you'll improve.
I started the night last night running 11s 1/8 mile....by the end of the night I had learned which lane was stickier and had dropped my times from 11.05s to 10.53s. A half second is like a mile in drag racing.

(sigh)....it's like trying to teach a dog how to use the commode.
dude. Good luck with your M3 project. You'll need it. When/if your "friends" finish the swap for you be sure to post extensive pictures and a total cost for everyone.
Have you even looked at the two engines side by side to see what they even look like? As a fabricator and someone who has built several hybrid vehicles I wish you and your firends the best of luck. It ain't happenening.
now go and prove me wrong...be my hero!
p.s. an M3 engine is going to cost you $4500 for the long block, the ECU is about $1200, wiring harness another $1500....all of this added to the cost of random bitsd and pieces AND the cost of a P5.....

well the cost doesn't bother me much but i'm not trying to say it's gonna be easy.......when i bought the P5 i wanted to prove a point to a certain person........gotta bet going......i gotta run a integra in January 05....he runs a low 13 right now.........it's something to try but if i can't work there's always other options....

i went from the starting point of 17.2 down to 16.8 (i ran a total of 6 times that night). just practice on your launch to find the 'sweet spot'
