Why are the protege 5 times so slow?

Naaah. Gotta' have da' bump in da' trunk! Balance. Decent stereo, good road manners, looking sharp. Balance.

I have seen gutted-out hondas with no interior and no power steering, a/c, etc.
I have seen over-the-top sound systems that leave NO room for cargo/vehicle use
I have seen monster wheels and skinny tires with slammed suspensions that just plain look stoopid when you hit a bump in the road...

Oh I wouldn't dream of taking the stereo out! It thumps hard. I think the Protege was built just right for it. It's not a home built box, it was custom made by a stereo shop. The car's never raced or even driven hard (unless I drive it for some reason), so the weight isn't much of an issue. I was just curious if I was imagining things with th eway it handles now.
