i'll bet that its only a front bumper ADD-ON, not a full bumper in the wings west kit.. you'd be suprised how clean add ons will look.

the little things you attach to the mp3 bumper may fit other proteges but not properly or look right.. but its not a full mp3 front end you're buying in that kit.. that would be redundant and their other kits dont do that.

It sure does not sound really right with what people are saying.

That would make wings west body kit a kit to make a MP3 style front (blue one), that only fits MP3's. Why would the MP3 owners want to replace their bumpers with one that looks exactly the same?
I would also have to assume that if its made for the sedan, either they are allowing the design to bolt into ours without extra support, or they will include them in the kit.

Since it has to be for sedans, they must allow for bolting it to the sedan, and it cant be just an add on, for our bumpers, since you can't add on the design, you have to remove the old bumper, and replace it. I can see the add-on bit for the yellow design, but why would they make a release that is only good for the 2000mp3 owners, and nto for the 100000 sedan owners?

It's obviously NOT an addon. Notice the lines throughout the bumper. The lines are more defined around the foglights and the lower grille mouth is wider and deeper than the MP3. It is NOT an addon.

And WW is not going to ship rebar with a kit. Unless they found some way to build it into the bumper [which I extremely doubt] then you will have to install it from dealer.

If you've installed kits before you will know that they don't come perfect. And doesn't it strike you as odd that they have ONLY mounted it on MP3's? If it was originally intended for all Protege sedans why did they only put both kits on MP3's and announce that it was an MP3 kit originally? It's because that's what it was originally designed for. They realized that with one minor modification to the sedans that it could be mounted on those and thus changed it's designation to fit Protege's in general.

Except that if it was for MP3s, then it would not be a hot seller. I cant imagine someone with an MP3 replacing it for their 1st kit (blue one), as it looks EXACTLY the same.

AS for the support. I would hope they sell these parts. I can imagine mazda probably charges 500, while someone can make it for 100.

Well imagine it. People will do it. It doesn't look exactly the same.

I can get the rebar from the dealer here for $150 CAD.

If you KNOW that WW have constructed a piece so it doesn't need the rebar THEN let us know. But otherwise it definitely needs it. Otherwise it's just not street legal to put it on.

All I've seen it say is that its for the 99 & up Protege sedans. It doesnt say MP3 anymore. Honestly, I dont think WW knows what it is for. I also wonder how much of those pics are photoshoped from the artists & not actual kits. I do know that when I talked to Wings West back in like Sept of last year, they had an MP3 sitting there in the warehouse waiting on something to be done to it so this would make it sound like they did fit it originally on the MP3 but it would be stupid to only sell kits for the MP3. And, from what I understand, it replaces the MP3 (and protege5) kit because I was told it will fit the Sedan. But, I dont know what I will believe until it starts shipping & they can tell us every detail. I dont think we'll get any correct/accurate info until then.

Indeed. What I think happened was: They started making the kit for fitment on MP3's. Then P5's. Then they realized that with little modification it could be fitted to the other sedans and then switched to saying it could fit them all. I wonder if they even know that the other sedans will need the added support or if they've ever tested the kit on anything but MP3's.

EDIT: And also this kit by itself is NOT legal on P5's. As it doesn't have the amber side signals on the bumper. Some places are picky on those legalities. Here it's not an issue. But I'm just mentioning it.
