X-Plan Purchase

X-Plan Purchase
My brother is looking at purchasing a 2002 Mazda Protege ES, and I want to give him one of my X-Plan Pin#'s. The problem is that I don't know what the X-Plan price of this vehicle is, and I don't want the dealer to cheat me by telling me the X-Plan price is something other than it really is. Does anyone know what the true X-Plan price is? Thanks for your help.

S-plan is 3% under invoice (this is by signing up for the EAA or being in a flight related business or Mazda business partner)
I think X-plan is Ford's counterpart of the program (shrugs)
If you're referring to something different, I'm not sure, could be wrong.
I've got an EAA membership just in case

Your brother will not be allowed to use your personal PIN number though. They do eventually verify that the name on the title is the one assigned to the PIN and you can get in trouble (legal or otherwise) if its not.

I am a member of EAA also, but I didn't realize Mazda calls it S- Plan. I thought when a member requests a PIN#, he/she can assign it to any social security number they want, namely the person who is going to purchase the vehicle. Is this allowed, or do I have to purchase the car myself?

S-Plan
The S-plan price is printed on the dealer's invoice. As an S-Plan member, you have the right to ask for it and see it. And you should do so! You can do that yourself at a dealer, or maybe call them.
On my 2002.5 P5, it was a few dollars below invoice. On top of that, I got all available incentives ($750 at the time).
The S-Plan does not specify that your brother can use it, and it seems he is ineligible. So it seems you have some choices: either use your S-plan membership as a haggling device to get them to give him a price near what you would pay. Or, you could buy it under your name. You can buy up to 2 Mazdas per year under the plan, but you must keep it for 6 months in your name. And of course, transferring it to your brother after 6 months may cause you to pay taxes (unless the purchase price is $1 or something - I don't know the state tax laws on transferring to a family member).
You should read the plan (it prohibits, for example the dealer from charging processing fees). If you e-mail me, I can send it to you.
good luck

family transfers
Transfers within the same family name are usually tax free.

P.S. I think he can use the X-Plan for his brother. The way my employer explained it is that anyone with the same lastname/relation can use it. Might explain why my sister was able to buy the Mazda van under my plan.
