HI. I recently replaced my driver side wheel hub and while they had the car apart I decided to change the front brake pads. Everything is fine and lately I have been hearing a light squealing when the brakes are not applied but it seems like it only happens once the rotor turns 1 full turn (sound occurs at the exact same interval). When the brakes are pushed to stop at an intersection you can hear the noise more constant. Does anyone have any ideas on what it can be that is causing this. Thanks in advance.

 

Standard ceramic pads - they love to squeel... There is a recall on later years which changes the caliper bracket, adding a mass to the bracket to keep them from making noise, it's larger than a thumb, easy to spot.
Though my car has this additional caliper mass and the pads will squeel if they aren't glued in place. Use some high temp silicone on the pads and stick them to the calipers - press the brakes once and then let the silicone dry overnight - you should be fine after that.

thanks for the reply. what I did and seem to be working was took apart the brakes again and I re-serviced them fully but this time I greased it with high temp anti squeal. I also greased all the clips including the inner pad clips that go inside the caliber cylinder. So far it seems to be working almost 2 weeks with no sounds. Hope to stays that was as it can get really annoying.
