caliper cleaner

i painted my calipers red a while back ago and now they have gotten all dirty from brake dust etc. so i bought some brake and caliper cleaner and when i sprayed my calipers the paint started to drip off.????

so my question is what kind of caliper/brake cleaner can i get(or if there is any) that wont take off the paint?

I painted my calipers red also, and I use "Simple Green" to clean them. I use that stuff on everything even my wheels, It will take all the brake dust right off. Whatever you used must have been some strong stuff, I hope you didnt get any of that stuff on your hands

yup i used simple green too and have not seen any bad effects. brake cleaners are very strong stuff so i'm not surprised it took your paint off.

Brake cleaner will dissolve the asphalt right out from under your car, heh.

Last time I changed the brakes on my old car, I used brake cleaner to clean all of the parts. When it dripped and ran down on to the asphalt, it literally dissolveded.

Brake cleaner is a very potent solvent, be careful what it touches.
