CHEAP Tein S-Techs

Can anyone actually confirm that this is for real? And that the springs are really for a Protege and not a Mazda3 like the picture suggests? Helluva deal for sure ..

Well, they should be real if the seller is reputable. But there was a scandal some time back where some e-bay sellers (and other vendors) were selling counterfeit Teins.

you COULD always call them and find out. Those springs don't look like they're for the protege, but it could just be a stock photo, not the ACTUAL product.

I dunno .. I don't really care cuz I'm satisfied with my current springs but I was just throwing it out there for anyone that might be interested. I know there's been a few people on here talking about S-Techs so I'm just throwing it out for people to take advantage if it's for real.

they appear to be on clearance, so sometimes retailers will lose money just to get rid of stuff that's just sitting in their inventory, but a great deal if the real thing.

Tein knockoffs are so rampant that I'd be wary of buying from any reseller you don't actually know.. i.e. if Ken sold me fake teins I could hunt him down lol

the drop numbers they give are for the sedan, for the P5 it'll give a much better, more even drop (less in the front, but a little more in the rear)

The part number listed is in fact for the Protege, so you're golden (unless those are fakes)!

the counterfeiters are really good too...

edit #6 or so: Vividracing is an authorized TEIN dealer so buy buy buy!!

they probably are jumping ship and getting rid of all their Protege parts since we're so 'old news'

Anyone can put authorized dealer on their website, doesn't mean they are. Unless they are directly linked through a dealer list on the manufacturers site then they are most likely not authorized.

even the regular listing has the same pictures though so I guess they just use the pics for all the listings? idk

I was skeptical too, but they are an authorized tein dealer, have a posted street address on their site, etc.

I really do just think they are trying to get rid of the last remaining s-tech set for the Protege in their warehouse.
