Don't go E-braking or "drifting"

I have a 2003 Protege. I was "drifting" the other day (aka hand braking around a corner at a decent speed)..i hit a stone curb and i totally destroyed my front driver's side suspension, warped the steel rim, warped the tire, and flattened my rear driver's side tire. Also, when i hit the curb, the wheel hit the front driver side fender so it bent that back slightly. When i got my estimate..the fee was quite hefty.... $1,960... does one suspension really cost that much?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Ok, sorry. I just had to get that out. The first thing you should do is fix your car. THEN worry about all that other stuff.

your first mod should be learning how to drive so you don't destroy your car.

Or not do "drifting" on public roads. I only do it in empty parking lots late at night in the winter just for thrills.

The reason why I don't find this funny is because if it was my car , I would be highly disapointed in myself , I honestly think that you should know better and realize that when you are drifting or practicing drifting you should do it on an open road .. with no sidewalks or anything that can forcefully stop the car. I hope you learned your lesson and won't be attempting anything like this in the future .

Sorry but i have to agree with Bruce, do these things in parking lots if you have to do them. What would've happened if you tried this drift and slid out and hit another car, or worse, a kid. Be a little smarter. And the repairs should easily come to $1900, you will see how much it adds up once labor comes in. Good luck with your car and keep that **** off the road for now on.

lmao!

I wish they had shown the person's face after they plowed their car into the curb/tree. Wonder if it was their parent's car

Just get a really good estimate with part numbers and all. Do the work yourself. I just saved $1200 by repairing my right rear suspension and oil pan after my car v/s boulder incident.

Drifting in a FWD...it'll do that to ya

Try it in a true drift-mobile, like an S13 coupe for example! All you need is an LSD and some really bad tires in back.
