MP3 rear sway bar bushing - will it fit?

OK, I need some expert advice here. I recently installed the MP3 20mm rear sway bar onto my 2000 ES. All is well except the sway bar bushing, which I had to cut the stock bushing to fit the bar into it. Apparently that wasn't a very good solution, as my new sway bar's been shifting to one side of my car constantly.

Picture the sway bar as seen from the rear of the car:

left side --> /_____/ <-- right side

ideally, at rest, the sway bar should look like |_____|

So, my question is, if I go ahead and buy the rear sway bar bushings for the MP3 rear sway bar from the dealer, will the bushing fit into the stock mounting bracket????

I tried to call Suspension Restoration to get some universal Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings, but they're a bunch of ******** and don't have the size (20mm) I'm looking for in stock

thanks in advance for any advice

I heard that the MP3's stock swaybar bushing will not mount properly in the ES's bushing mounting bracket. The MP3's rear subframe is slighty different then the ESs

You did replace the stock struts right? If you didn't you are going to snap the endlink's connectors off, and have no rear swaybar for a while. I don't think that would cause the mal-alignment you are talking about though.

Run a search on the MP3's setup, and you should find some better info on the rear end. Look for Cruzer too, he changed his into a MP3
