you might want to take a look at the strut tower bar made by JIC, because they are a more well known maker and have been around for a while. i dont remember how much it costs off the top of my head but check it out on their website. as for the mp3 strut tower bar, dont touch it. i work at a ford dealership that also happens to own a mazda dealership and ive seen just how small that strut tower bar is and ive driven with it. personally i would go with something much more beefier and from the aftermarket. so shop around and really try to find one from a trusted and proven company, cuz as im sure you already no there are a ton of junk parts out there....hope this helps you in your decision making

what?!? the mp3/pro5 strut tower bar is not small. it is about an inch diameter, and bolts securly to the towers. the one there in the link looks more flimsy than any others i have seen. the best on to get would be one that integrates the firewall. (to create a sort of triangle) the only one i know of that does that is the one made by AUTOexe. however, it won't work on USDM cars because it incorporates a brake booster brace, which is on the wrong side of the car.

Thanks for the info guys
but I have a 1.6L engine, and from previous
experineces from friends, etc...
the mp3 or the ones in the P5 strut bar tower sometimes
comes in contact with the engine because
the strut tower was not designed for the
1.6L engine. True, there is a quick fix to it
but, in terms of performance and quality,
and your experience, does anybody reccommend/or disagree
with this tower.(it seems too thin and weak to me)

I dunno, I don't want to waste $$$ on useless stuff and stuff that won't work, but I will check out other brands and see if there is any feedback from them or not

I keep checking, thanks for all the info, gotto go to work, damn!!!

Even though the MP3/Mazdaspeed tower bar has some slight fitment problems w/ the 1.6, I'd rather get it than the cheap eBay ones. You guys have to remember the passenger side strut tower has a cruise control bracket that will block the mounting points for these kinds of braces, so if you have cruise the only option is the MP3 kit.
