205 50 16 yok is the tire
with 1.5 progress springs i will have to roll the fenders because after camber adjustment (especialy in the rear) it will hit the tip of the side wall
i found this out the hard way with 215's, stock struts and lowering springs
but the offset makes the car look real aggresive
tokiko struts are on there now with the stock springs and it handles unbelievably good!
Yeah the rear will rub first, not sure if it is just a wider track in the rear or the fenders themselves. I will search for it, but it definatley looks like a combo of both...

installsheild- yah, you're right. anyhow, i was really liking
slamprotoge5's wheels so i decided to get a similar wheel
in the 17in size. its ADR sokudo or something...cant remember
the name. i got the ancrasite (sp?) version so the
brake rotor is not as obvious, imo and compliments the blue
mica color. the drop on the eibach
seems a tad too concervative leaving me with just barely 70%
sidewall to wheelgap....its cutting it very close..i hate wheel
gap that is more than 50%. im hoping that
the eibachs would settle at another - 5 to - 8 mm. offset on
these wheels is 48mm and has both 5x100 and 5x114.3 pattern
so can use it on my other cars as well if needed.

i did pickup the spacers today...5mm. i havent put them on
yet, but according to several tire shops, they say 5mm is okay
as long as you get 5-6 full turns on the lugs.

Yeah with that offset you will be fine, no rubbing or anything. That is the same offset as my 17's...

And I wasn't trying to be an ******* if I sounded like it, and with 5mm you would probably be fine anyway. Like the tire shop said as long as you have enough thread left to get that amount of turns there won't be much more stress on the wheels. + you said you don't race...

With the 5mm spacers and the new wheels it would either rub in back or be very close. You could have the spacers machined to about 3 mm if you were unhappy with the stance with the new wheels installed, and be a little safer as far as rubbing...

installsheild- naw, i didnt think you're an *** one bit..im pretty
open minded to everyone's opinions and use it to good use as
reference.

the only complaint i might have with these wheels and
tires (205/40/17 NT450) is not so much the offset, but
the wheel gap. i just hate wheel
gap thats more than 50% of the sidewall. 70% -80% gets me
kinda uneasy and anxious...kinda wanna throw in some
sandbags in the car to lower it. j/k 205/45/17 would
work, but considering the extra wheel/tire combo weight,
I went with the smaller profile which is like -5mm from stock
diameter. regardless, im waiting for the eibachs to re-settle.
hopefully by tomorrow morning its at its max down height.

I 100% agree, I hate too much or too little wheel gap too...I don't like them so low that you can't see the upper part of the wheels like some dudes.

yah, it looks like the eibachs re-settled again cause the wheel
gap is now just about right. about 65% of the sidewall.

i also noticed that when i get into the car the car drops another
5mm due to the preload, so its probably perfect when im driving
it around. i put my wife in the car along with some heavy
groceries and the ride was

this doesnt happen with TEIN's on my other cars so it got
me kinda worried. style is everything on this car.

edit: check out my www its a tad bit lower on the rear now.

Where you using Tein's S-Tech springs or a full coilover kit on your other car? I am interested in the springs becuase they give a little more drop and are a bit stiffer for my future better struts...

installsheild- TEIN HA's with upper pillow mounts...these are
fullcoilovers.

the s-techs are good too, but they only lower the car about
the same as eibachs and apparently are slightly firmer than
the eibachs.

Yeah from what I heard they fall between H&R's and Eibachs as far as stiffness...I just ordered a set for my P5 from Advanced Imports about an hour ago.

they claim to lower the P5 1.8" in front and 1.5" in back...
And the set fort the Sedan lowers 2.0" in front and 1.4" in back...

yah, that sounds about right. their H-techs ride a tad higher
than the eibachs close to the mazdaspeed springs (racingbeat).

im sure you already know this, but when you install these, cut the bump stops by about 1 inch on all corners. ive driven through
dips and humps, etc but have not bottomed out or rode the
bump stops.
