Can someone post a pic of the correct way the bar should be on?

I thought this was correct...its a 21.5mm bar from AWR (it is Negatize's car by the way)...
I have a bunch of suspension pics on my PC but I am at school in a lab. I will post more pics as soon as I get to my place...

Don't these things come with instruction manuals?

From what og sk8er wrote, it seems both Pollax and Negatize have instaled their bars upside down.

ANyone know for sure?

i'm wondering why the awr(s) are so popular? it would seem that the racing beat/mp3 bar would be better, being that it is shorter and points straight down so that interference would not be an issue.

i just installed my eibachs and tokicos yesterday and man-oh-man, what a difference. the stock susp. on my 99 was not as stiff as the 01-03's, so the difference is huge. it feels like it's on rails now compared to stock. i was going to get the mp3 rear sway bar, but i'm wondering if it's still worth it? cornering is surprisingly flat now without it, though i haven't autoxed it yet, which i plan to do. any opinions?

I talked w/Tony @ AWR Racing and he is going to fax me instructions tomorrow. I will scan and post when I receive.

Thank's,

Patrick

The reason is that you need a whole new rear subframe for the MP3 rear sway bar. The AWR fits right away without this problem.

Also, the MP3 bar is what is reported to be causing the clunk that MP3 and MSP owners are complaining about.

DUDE!! I hate to tell you this, but your sway bar is on UPSIDE-DOWN!! You need to change it ASAP!! The part going under the trailing arm goes OVER the trailing arm. I joined this forum to let you know, before something bad happens.
Also, I noticed that you have the bar set on the soft setting. The other mounting point, closer to center will give more stiffness.
Hope this helps.

Patrick
I don't have any instruction so I can't tell you definitively hich way the bar goes on but I can tell you that the way that I have it mounted is the only way that it would fit without clearance problems. I have tried to mount the bar the way you suggested and it was a no go. There is not enough clearance between the lateral links and the bar.

car is lowered (shouldnt matter anyway as the arms will travel
the same area up or down during compression/decompression
of the struts).

the adjustable endlinks let you make finer adjustments in the
stiffness and are more robust than factory enabling you to use
the 21.5mm bars as well.
When you lower the car, the end link mounting points stay the same relative to the ground. The swaybar mounting points on the the other hand is lowered too since it is mounted to the chasis. The end links themselves are obviously the same length. To mount the swaybar to the end links, you need to swing the bar up and this causes some clearance problems with the lateral links. Unless of course I have the bar mounted upside down like og sk8er suggested, this of course could change the game completely.

By the way, adjusting the end links does not change the stiffness at all.

I found a picture of the DG motorsports P5 with the AWR 21mm bar installed and it seems like the bar is installed the same way Negatize and I have. Unless of course the installation of the 19mm bar is different than the 21mm.

This pic was found on AWR's website.

Yes, you can re-use the OE factory endlinks if the vehicle is not lowered. Mine is not lowered, and plan on doing this.

Nice find on the pic, Pollax. Looks like your mounting is correct!

This is correct. The 19mm installs differently.
The 21.5mm goes under the trailing arm, where as the 19mm goes over the trailing arm.

Thank's

Patrick

**Edit** Sorry for the typo
