same Alignment for solo 1 and 2?
Hello,
I've a stock 2k2 Protege5 and am wondering if there's a particular alignment setting (keep stock?) that'd work well (or ok) for both autoX and track.

Im thinking about the following for this season?
-1/8 toe out in front
-2.5 degree's camber (front)
-1.5 degeree's camber (rear) with ZERO toe in the rear..
Tires and wheels are Rota slipstreams with 205/50/15 Azenis Sports......

For Solo one get rid of the toe out in front and I'd keep the rear settings the same. I ran similar settings on my Impreza on the track and in solo 2's and did VERY well with it.
Ran similar setup on my VR6 jetta and yet again was very happy.

If you can get 2.5 degrees camber, the 1/8 toe out might be fine. Without camber plates (less than 1 degree camber), I like to run ~1/4" toe out up front (One full turn on the adjuster).
For rear toe- I've tried adding toe out and it doesn't seem to help. I just keep it zeroed out. 1.5 degrees should be fine.

By turning the front strut upper mounting plate so the white paint marks are pointing toward the front corners of the car you achieve maximum negative camber and maximum positive caster. (the stock setting is paint marks toward the middle/front, which does have maximum neg camber, but less caster than optimum) The positive caster helps induce negative camber as the wheel is turned into a corner. You can also try loosening the 4 strut mounting bolts under the hood, driving the outside edges of the front tires up onto 1X4 wood slats to "persuade" the most amount of negative camber available in the bolt holes then tighten them down.
