TEIN S-TECH Springs

All:

Over the weekend I managed to put on a set of TEIN S-TECH springs for the my almost 1-year old P5.

I have to say, following the instructions in the service manual is very easy. Also, honestly, the install went much more smooth than my Acura Integra GS-R and Type-R. I really like how all struts have two supporting bolts at the bottom and larger spring perches versus one bolt-tighten/slip in or smaller springs.

It took about 3 hours from start to finish with clean up and really, you don't need a spring compressor if you do it right.

I do have to say that the endlinks really are crap. I'm thinking about getting new ones but am curious if the AWR rears are also the same as the fronts.

The ride quality -- a tad more stiff than stock, but realllllllly nice, not too soft, and handles well. I thought it would be more stiff than it is, but it isn't harsh like coilovers (cheapos and $$$ ones).

Pix as promised...

- Brian

I actually talked to bijou-mp5 about a place on Ebay that sold them, but after speaking with them, they did not have any more in stock (despite the Ebay listing) and it would take 30 days to get + then some. I ordered them for $180+shipping at optionsauto.com. Done lots of business with them in the past.

Since a few days have gone by, the springs must have settled as the ride is a bit more stiff than my initial post and the car handles awesome!

I need a larger rear AWR swaybar now!

Oh yeah, so a Mazdaspeed Protege today, damn that thing needs to be dropped!

hmm... good thing you call them Brian. You don't want to wait for long time without knowing it wasn't in the stock.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2417870616 says 8 of them in stock, but like ZMZMP5 said before, call them and make sure if they have them in stock to ship out.
I want springs too
