upgrade to 5 bolt/ 4 wheel disc

I bought a really nice 03 LX for a really good price... but the one thing that has been nagging the crap out of me about it is the 4 bolt hubs and rear drums. I looked around for a bit, but it doesnt look like anyone has done a swap to the 5 bolts on one of the less swag models.

I'm mostly looking for what all I will need to make the swap. Unfortunatly i dont know of an es or a p5 around anywhere to look at and see, and dont have the service manual for one either. I suspect its a pretty good mess of parts, but that my same master cylinder and lines will work.

right off the top of my head all I can think of are the calipers, rotors and hub assembly ... please help me out... im dumb

Nope. The DX and LX remained as 4 while everything else remained as 5.

They probably had a few left over from various models, also a good sellign point to differentiat from the higher priced models. To do the changeover you have to change quite a bit, it used to be in the faq I'm not sure if it;s there anymore, your best bet is to find a totaled ES P5, 626, etc. and swap it. It's a fairly big project so be prepared.

the faq has been down ever since i joined the forum. you say a 626's parts will swap on? that seems strange... anyone know of anyone whos actually done this? I figure it wont be too simple.. but i would have plenty of help if i mess things up. what really sucks is that i dont think there are many import salvage yards with any late model cars theyre parting out.

edit: late model salvage yards around here i should say.

You mean this FAQ? http://web2.airmail.net/theman/protegefaq/

Here's the specific section on brakes: http://web2.airmail.net/theman/prote...ds_brakes.html
