Turbocharged Pontiac Solstice GXP to pack 260 hp
AutoWeek | Published 12/28/05, 11:12 am et
The much-anticipated, high-performance variant of the Pontiac Solstice roadster will be unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, packing turbo power as we predicted six months ago (News, July 11, 2005).
A 2.0-liter, turbocharged direct-injected four-cylinder making 260 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque will power the Solstice GXP. Look for the boosted Pontiac in showrooms this summer as a 2007 model—at a $4,000 to $5,000 premium over the naturally aspirated Solstice.

yea but thats still almost 100 horses more than mazda is offering with their current roadster. but i'm willing to put my money on the MX-5 over the solstice. have you seen the upcoming saturn sky? looks like something a corvette just pooped out.

i think the sky looks great.
p.s. mazda can always put more power in a miata but they wont because you reach a level where you actually overpower the suspension and have a bad riding experience. Leave it to the americans to scream "more power more power"

the looks dont bother me as much as the design, it looks better than the solstice, but as far as the design, the corvette already did it, now theyre just using tracing paper. thats just a design beef of mine when it comes to stuff like that. like porshe's and aston martin's (and GM's) designers are not earning all of their paychecks.
and there are plenty of miata owners asking for more power too so its not just the domestics. but it wouldnt play well with mazda's "gram strategy." and i agree with you, the mx-5 would have a totally different drive
