Know a good shop?
Hey there fellow MD'ers...
I live in B-more and commute down to Rockville everyday and I am looking for a good shop to buy parts and get work done if needed (i'd rather do all of my own work but i am new and can't afford another car if i destroy mine!). any reccomendations on a place to go?

I got most of my performance mods done at Atomic Motorsports. They're in Rockville off Gude Dr. Tony, the owner and head wrench, is a nice guy and actually cares about you and your car. He's a drag racer, but understands and appreciates track guys like me. Even though I don't work by there any more, I still take my car to him for any performance mods I'm considering. Oil changes or other simple stuff, I still do on my own, but when it comes to putting Mazdaspeed cams or something in there, he's my first choice.
His personal race car is (I think he's still driving it anyway) a stoopid-fast Mustang. He has it up to around 950hp. I'm not seeing quite that much on the P5, but I don't know if I could get that to the ground.
PM me and I'll give you the phone number and address.

I realize this is really old, but if you're looking for a good shop, I found Wayne's All Points Service in Laurel (301.725.5590) through our local Miata club. Wayne's an excellent mechanic, very honest, and one heck of nice guy too.
And although I don't have any personal experience, I've also heard good things about Ourisman Mazda (also in Laurel) from friends of mine.
If you want to stay up towards Baltimore, the Exxon station on the corner of Falls Road and Cold Spring used to have a mechanic there named Will who was top-notch (and a Mazda enthusiast). If he's still there, check them out. If he's not, skip it.
