These are from the March 17th and 24th practice events that I attended. Both were held in Landover, MD (17th was at Six Flags America, 24th was at FedEx Field)

Enjoy!

nice pix guys. I attended the afternoon run and was very impressed with the vehicles.
first off, did u guys see the impala ss and the vette with "more" in white letters. whoever says the v-8's can't handle need to attend one of these events. zoomzoomh what time did u leave?
I remember seeing biknman but didn't recognize his vehicle so I didn't know who he was.
So how did you guys do? I understand it was a 50 sec course. Is that the standard?
Next time you guys go, can I tag along to learn, also I would like to participate. Where can I get a helmet? The next event is APR 23, will u guys be there?

you were there in the afternoon? where were you? I was the guy in yellow jacket blue hat taking pictures. I stayed til the very end until they began the fun runs.

I ran in the morning, biknman and another guy Chris ran in the afternoon. That's all the Pros that ran that day. The course, when ran by a good driver in a fast car, is about high 40s. Most of the mid-pack drivers ran in the mid to low 50s. But those times were run in Prep or STS classes. I think most of the GS and lower classes ran mid 50s and up.

Chris, in his 00 silver ES, ran his car in H stock class, and with only khumo autox tires added, ran a 51 in his last run. He beat out tons of WRXs that ran in the mid 50s, show that in autox it's 90% driver, and 10% car...

the next event is on April 21, same place same time. It is open to non-SCCA members as well, so you'll definitely be able to participate if you want.

look at my thread in motorsports for info on getting helmets, but if you want to try autox before spending money on a helmet, they have loaners that you can use. Them nasty helmets and all, but hey, it's free
