I went to the meet today with the Quebec Protege Club and I was more than impressed with the way they keep their Protege Club. (Raptor, thank you for inviting us, it was a blast.. sorry I couldn't stay longer )

Impact, I'm not sure if you are still interested in doing that sticker for us.. but here's my suggestion:

- We do an Official Ottawa Protege Club.. meaning that we get our website and the promo stuff to advertise it (such as stickies, flyers, etc...) (anyone with web design experience??)

- To have a treasurer to keep the money for our promo stuff. For example, we would need to pay in advance for the window stickies.. so someone would collect the money to pay for it. I don't mind doing it. I can open an account and keep the money there. (Usually two people co-sign to withdraw money (more safe). If you are interested, I can send you an electronic copy of expenses (so that you know where the money is going).

This is just an idea out of the blue.. not sure if you guys would be interested or not.. but after seeing the Quebec Club, I think we should do something to promote our club and do some recruiting

ya we had a blast today......hehe although raptors new tent came without any polls so he had to drive all the way back to hull and get new polls

after that fiasco we ended up going downtown, stoped off for a beer, did the boat cruse around ottawa, then went back to the camp sites and i went home

i had a great time

we should do something like that.....if we could get the TO group to meet us somewhere that would be awsome!!

and yes i think we should organize a ottawa protege club

I'm thinking of getting one started out this way in Edmonton so I should keep track of how you handle yours. We have already had 1 1/2 meets so the interest is there. I saw the logo for the Quebec club and it looks cool. I have read several of the posts from your neck of the woods and your group seems quite active.

By the way, is your boyfriend Kevin? If so we are very friendly with his family.

What does that have to do with Ottawa doing their own stuff? I think the Toronto club is awesome, but it's nice to have something local.

GroHarlem - So far, I haven' t got enough interest. It seems that some people here have "other" stuff to do. I am more than willing to do whatever it takes to make it work, but I don't want to do it by myself either! So unless Ottawa people show some serious interest and are willing to participate, then I think we'll put it on hold for now.

PS: I'm not pinpointing anyone.. but I was hoping for more enthusiasm from Ottawa!

I know how you feel, same thing is happening in Gatineau. Raptor had a good idea by waiting till September before starting anything.

Btw it was nice meeting you and the rest of the Ottawa people who showed up when the Quebec club camed in town
