2 questions regarding 2010 3 5 door
My new 5 door 3 should be here tomorrow. I was at the dealer today and I noticed some of the Mazda 3's have the repeater turn lights in the side mirrors and some dont. The cars sticker for the same with no difference in options that I can tell. Why is this and I am wondering if mine will have them or not. The other question is how to remove the trim piece that is to the left of the steering wheel that has the DTC button in it. I usually make a button for garage door opener and want to place it there if there is enough room for a door opener under the trim.

ask the dealer about the side lights, it may be an add on option they can get for you.
As for the trim, start pulling screws. I've got an 07 and have to pull the hood handle and a screw or two out - then it's snapped in place, pulling straight out to get it apart. There should be room behind those switches, mine has a lot of space if you just add a pushbutton wired to your garage door opener. Just have to find a replacement fake switch to put in there so it still looks stock.
I almost think I saw the garage door button as an option from the dealer too, called homelink and it was in the mirror. This is also an add on feature - if you want to pay for it.

I will have the car this weekend and yes the homelink is an option but I am not getting it. I will just use a regular garage door opener and wire a switch to it and put that switch in one of the empty spaces like I did on my WRX. There are no screws that I saw so I hope it just pulls out. We will see.
