ok, i know this topic is probably been overkilled many times but i am still confused. the 'online speaker fit guides' all tell me that the front door speakers for the 2001 protege sedan are 6.5s but many members of this board tell me they are 5x7s. can any of you who has installed speakers in the front doors of a 3rd gen please tell me what size best fits? i am beginning to believe that the online guides are wrong. any help would be greatly appreciated.

5X7's Worked best for me,

The next size up didnt fit because they were to long in depth.

Stick with 5 X 7's

 

5x7s are the stock speakers that are in the front doors. 6½" are the stock sizes for the rear doors.
