5 point harness mounting points.

I wanna install 5 point harness and I dont know if the child seat mounting points in the sedan (on the parcel shelf, 3 in total!) will be enough to support an adult in an accident. Of course, they are used for shoulder belt anchor point.

I don't think so...

If you mean the top anchors for child seats, my guess is that they are designed for total weight of 40-50 pounds, as above that booster seats are designed to be used with the car's seatbelts. They are also only designed to anchor the top of child seats, as the belts do most of the work in almost all seats. There is a newer lower attachment system being offered in some cars, but I doubt that will help you.

Why do you want 5 point harness? If you want to race, get a roll bar or cage, which will have proper anchor points. If you don't want the bar/cage, you will have to place anchors on a re-inforced section of the rear shelf, with really long shoulder belts. And by reinforced, you may have to run rod or bar to the trunk floor or strut towers, and re-inforce that. Check with a racing fabricator if you are serious.

I don't want a roll cage because it is a daily driver but I need the 5-pt because it is much better for autocrossing and driving in the mountains. Think about holding the steering wheeling for steering instead of steering AND bracing.

born2zoom it seems that there is quite a few individuals looking for their parts. You better respond on why you took the money and deleted your post.

keep it in private messages people. flame threads/posts are not what this board is for.

On the contrary, protetype -

That's really not a flame post - it seems this guy has scammed at least two of our members out of money - one for as much as $250.

Looks like he might be selling parts, collecting the cash, and never sending items.

We need to help our own - so exposure of the issue is a good thing.

I agree that most of the flames and crap should stay in the flamewars and off-topic boards - but this one is different.

do me a favor, head over to the for sale sections... WHO'S THE MODERATOR? if there's a problem, who do you need to contact? ME, via private message. i know what's going on with the guy, but posting in other threads where he's asking a question about something completely off the topic of why everyone is having a beef... is not what this is about.

Protetype - First I will fully admit that I had no idea this was discussed in the "for sale" forum, nor did I know that YOU were the moderator there. I also didn't know you had already learned of the situation in question - from your last post I just got the (wrong) idea that this was new news to you. For this, I am definitely sorry, and I agree that things should be kept in the proper threads.

I'm sure you can understand that this IS more than a flamewar - and the frustration with this guy will be vented outside of the proper forums - if this guy is a true scumbag, the topic will get brought up every time he asks a question or responds to a thread. Basically, whenever that username comes up in a post, the topic of theft or fraud will soon follow. I guess it's kind of inevitable - and goes more toward his credibility on this board than anything else.

I didn't mean to contradict or confront your authority as a moderator here - I just voiced an opinion, that certain cases such as this deserve a level of exposure - and that may be justification for this type of thing extending beyond the proper forums for the topic. And the answer really is that if you don't agree, you do have the last word so-to-speak - as the moderator, you use your own discretion as to the validity of posts, and have the ability to keep things on the track you feel is right. I understand and respect your position on the matter, and I can only speak for myself, but I will refrain from posting about this matter in the wrong threads from now on.

Let's just hope the matter can get settled.

The post before was not a flame post. This was to inform born2zoom that other people on the forum have started a thread concerning him. Because there is so many threads, I currently wanted to inform mr born2zoom so that he had the opportunity to find and contact that individual on his own terms before that thread got out of hand. Especially when the thread was moved over to the off-topic section.

So I apologize if the previous post came out as negative or "off the original topic." But I rather that this gets solved quickly so that no other enthusiates gets shafted.

I just want to feel safe if I use the sale section to buy goods.
