Lightbulb adding more warning lights on my gauges!

Hello, i have a mazda protege GL model, It lacks some features i wanted more on my car. One thing on it is that it does not have any Warning lights when i open the door of my car, It does not show any lights that it is open. Can this be adjusted? Thanks!

You have the lamp on the roof that comes on when you open the door right? Perhaps you can find some way to tap into that, sounds difficult though

Mine also lacks a door open light, but it doesn't pose too much of a problem for me

it can be done pretty easy actually. You'll need an extra cluster bulb, a relay, fuse and fuse holder and some wire.

connect a wire to the door pin wire (red/white) and then connect to the relay pin 85

connect a 12v+ source with the fuse (5amp) and fuse holder and then connect to the relay pins 86 and 87

pull the dash cluster and install the extra bulb in one of the extra warning light slots. Connect one side of the bulb to ground and the other side to the relay pin 30.

now each time you open the door, the dash cluster light will come on indicating the door is open.

You can the same for the trunk, just double what you did for the door, same relay configuration, but instead use the trunk pin wire and connect to relay pin 85. and use a another dash bulb in a different slot in the cluster.
