whats your real question?? where to you get the tack signal???its the purple wire with a white stripe on the diog port connection under the hood right behind the battery. be sure you buy a tach that can be calibrated for different types of signals. my tach requires a adapter to read properly(its 60 bucks) but i got this tach for 40 bucks from a friend, so its more for looks than anything

Hey thanks, That is the exact same tach I have had for 10 years and has been in 3 Cameros and a 95 Monte Z34. You said you had to get an adaptor, was it to plug it in the port or what?

no, you run the wire from the diog port into the adapter then into the tach so the tach will get a multipulse signal instead of a single pulse signal which will not read right.

So the adapter you bought is from Autometer or something from an electronics store? Do you have a part number? Thanks again!!

assuming you found the right wire, yes it will work. it will just be harder to adjust b/c you will hahve to rev your engine to set it instead of just setting it on the tachwith the car off.
