Amp Mounting

Amp Mounting
Sorry if this post is redundant, but I am new and have searched through this section with no luck. I will be upgrading the speakers in our PR5, and want to know where others have been mounting their Amps. I am keeping the stock RHU, but am replacing the front door/tweeters with components, and the rears also. I want to use a 4-channel amp to drive the 4 corners of the system, so I only need space to mount 1 amp.
I havent checked, but it seems like one could mount an amp under the rear seat cushion...

You don't want to mount under the seat due to the heat. Place it under the driver or passenger seat, or on the back of the flod down seats. I put mine on the back of my fold downs and ran the wires under the carpet. I like it.

both of my amps are under the pass/driver seats. stealthy and clean. yeah, under rear seat is a no-no. behind the fold-down part, under pass/driver seats, custom in hatch/trunk are all optimum places.
but for the average joe, i would go under the front seats for several reasons
-shorter wires
-stealthy (not to attract thieves)
-imo, looks a bit cleaner in that location

my speaker amp is under my front seat because my trunk is full of subs and also the amp for the subs.. oh BTW the seat is all the way forward, if you walk by the car you won't notice it when the seat is in its normal position

I mounted my amps to the back of the fold-downs, but I used a board to secure them to - so no permanent screw holes in the seats or anything.
I cut some slots in the MDF board, and used the child seat hooks to anchor the board to the seats with a tie-down strap. It works very well:
And this is the final result with the board covered in grey vinyl - the amps are centered btween the sub box (right side) and the left side of the board:
Just an idea for ya.
