Amp and speaker question
Im in the process of buying (2) Rockford amps from someone and I wanted to ask this question before I decide to buy or not. Let me give you some background info first..
I currently have a mono 150 watt RMS Rockford amp that I use to power (2) 12 in subs. For Christmas I got a 700 watt Xplod amp that Im going to use to power the new 12 in subs that came with the amplifier. If I buy the 2 amps from this person, which are both 250.2 watts, Im going to use them to power my front and rear speakers. So my question is this, could I use the 150 watt amp to power some component speakers and tweeters or should I sell my original amp and just wire the component and tweeters to one of the 250.2 watt amps?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

You wont want to use the Mono amp on the components. As long as your comps can take the larger amp it would be better to run off that. Mono amps are mainly used for Subs, which is why they have only the option between Low pass and All pass rather than a high pass as well. You will get better sound (and louder) if you use the 250.

Your best bet woud be to entirely ignore the rear speakers, and get some GOOD components that you've listened to and liked for the front, and amp them appropriately. Rear speakers should be used for fill as extra noise behind your head generally throws off your soundstage.

So then what would I do about the empty slots by my back window? I think someone said you can get rid of the 3rd brake light. How can I do that and where can I get the cover to cover up the hole where it used to be? Didn't someone say that Mazda offered the cover as a part in their catalog? Whats the part number?

honestly, it depends on your setup bro.. mono amps really aren't that great of an idea for front or rear speakers as you'll lose ALOT of the imaging details of Stereo sound by doing this. what kind of subs are you running (exact brand and model), what are the exact model numbers on the 2 rockford amps you're looking at? honestly, depending upon the specs, i'd buy just ONE of the rockford amps to run your subs and dish out the extra dough and get a good quality 4 channel amp. what kind of surrounds do you have ie front and rear speakers? some speakers may be worth amping, some not. it's all in the details bro

This is what I have right now:
1) Rockford 150 watt RMS, 300 watt max mono Punch amp
2) Sony Xplod 760 watt max 2 channel amp (model # XM2150GSX)
3) (2) Sony Xplod 12 inch, 800 watt max subwoofers (model # XSL1235)
4) Sony Xplod 6x9s in rear
5) Stock 6 1/2 150 watt max speakers in front
Here is the setup Ive since decided to run:
Im going to run an upgraded Rockford mono amp to power the (2) 12 in Sony subs. Im going to run my Sony Xplod 2 channel amp to power the rear speakers and then another 2 channel amp to power the front components and tweeters. What sould the headunit be wired to run to?
