Anyone ever hit a skunk?
I hit a huge skunk going to work just before 7:00am this morning before daylight. It was huge! Came from the right side of the road and there was no avoiding it. I swerved but would have had to gone into another lane to miss it (two lane highway) I heard it "thump-wak" underneath the passenger side. The tires missed it. I held my breath (literally) waiting for that smell but even though I got the skunk, I think it didn't get me. I was going about 63mph.
Anyway I was wondering what would you use to get rid of the smell if the skunk shot a load off on the underside of your car?

a good washing and time....that is all that will really help....that is unless you want to buy a butt load of tomato juice and wash the effected area with it....the acid in the tomato juice neutralizes the skunk juice......I think I would just as soon allow it to wear off.

Hey sir Nuke how much is in a butt load?? JK. Anyway anything like lime juice or tomato juice will work. My German Shorthair (Adolf) got sprayed by a skunk this year hunting pheasants. Needless to say he rode in the back of the truck on the drive home. I stopped and got tomato juice when I got back into town and gave him a good bath. You should have heard him whine when he got sprayed. I felt so bad for him.

I hit a skunk before, with my old car, they are almost as bad as deer. They start to cross the road, then they panic and decide to go back the way they came. I hit it, and man it stunk for a week at least. Even though I washed it, you can never get the smell out, and I didn't feel like washing my car with tomatoe juice....LOL
