are you kidding me? well, at least in my 94 protege lx, i fit a q-logic 'like' box for two 10 inch subs in my trunk, only down fall is that the box takes up the whole back of the back seats in my car, and about 1/3 of the flat square footage i have in my car... and the dimensions for my box are a little bigger than yours, not in width, but in height and depth. i am not aware of many style changes for the trunk interior in first gen pros as compared to 3rd generation proteges. i'm not 100% positive, but why not take a measuring tape and find out... when i fit my box into my trunk, i put it in through the back driver side door and had the back seats down to slide the box in fully... after i had the subs screwed into the box. thats the one good advantage of 60/40 fold down rear seats. good luck

 

that shouldn't be too hard, you might have to assemble the box in the trunk though

 

32 x18 x 16 is the exact same volume, if that helps.
