bass rattling

My bass is hitting so hard with the windows down and the light in the back seat by the window vibrates a lot. Does anyone know how to take it off successfully? My spoiler blocks that light anyways and it has a third brake light on it so its useless.

take out the rear deck and deinstall off the deck. It leaves a nice big hole to figure someway to cover up..

Cover it up with a piece of notebook paper with MAZDA RULES written on it.

Does it rattle that bad that you hear it? My subs hit really hard, but if my 3rd brake light rattles, damn if I would know. I am not being a smart *** when I say that. I just never heard of that one before. What year is your Protege? I have one on my wing, but I don't recall one on the back dash. I could be wrong though. Maybe you can get a thin piece of stripping (like the ones that goes around the outer speaker (like some subs have), and use it on the bottom part of the brake light. You could get that from a auto part store or hardware store I imagine. Or you can use a little bit of caulking (from a small tube, not the "caulking gun") and put a small layer under it so that it will prevent annoying vibrations from occuring. Just a thought.

Those are pretty good ideas. My protege is the 99 year. I don't hear it myself cuz the bass is loud, but when I have my friends in the back seat they say they hear it, especially when the windows are up. Thanks mr.t

a, hello, weather stipping? cheapest solution, take the cover off, weather strip under it and rattle = gone. works like a charm on my car, i redid my back dash with a mint junker dash backing, dynamat and the weather stripping and i get awesome bass out of those speakers, i have no back dash rattle at ALL. try weather stripping under that SOB, works wonders. either wise, just take the damn thing off and take a piece of apholstry and plug up the hole or something, they do have a dummy part edwin pulled up at one point to put into the back dash (an actual oem plug part that covers the hole in the back dash for the rear brake light in 3rd gen proteges). search and find.
peace
by the way, edwin is literally, TheMan

I only heard of one person shattering their back window and that was in a truck with two 18's. Is it really THAT loud? What are you running back there, a nuclear reactor? I have had the inside mirror fall off of a Grand Am and since have been leary of mirrors falling down since! You may need to replace your rear windows with 1/2 inch plexiglass. That will keep 'em from shattering!
