Okay Mike I tried this stuff after our trip back from Kelowna and I don't think it works that great. Yes I read the instructions which by the way made me laugh. First instruction: Wash and dry car. Second: Apply Turtle Wax Bug & Tar remover. That was so funny.

It was a day later so maybe that did not help. I ended up taking a sponge which has a fabric over it and actually scrubbed them critters off. What a job. I think I still have some body remnants jammed in a couple of crevices. Also, I tried to clean the rad off but it was difficult with the grill in the way.
How long did you let it (the bug and tar remover) sit on there for? Usually letting it soak for a few minutes helps. Also, you can try putting soap directly on the bugs to try to loosen them up a bit.

Just remember to "spot-wax" the areas you use any kind of chemicals/harsh soaps on. Better safe than sorry

BTW, don't scrub too hard....you'll drag bug bits all over your paint and probably cause some scratches

Some of those removers work, and some don't. I've had mixed success with them, and usually find that the Orange Clean or even a VERY SMALL amount of WD-40 or even gasoline works better. Actually, gasoline seems to work by far the best, but I'm sure you don't like scrubbing your car with gas, even in a small area. I know I don't.
gasoline, clean your whole car in gasoline (DO NOT SMOKE) mixed with water then go back for the bugs and tar with sraight gasoline. rewax your car. damn that will be one clean car.

I'm hoping this is a joke. Mostly because gasoline won't mix with water

But seriously, for small tar spots and bugs, gasoline on a rag is by far the best at getting them off. If you wash the area immediately after using it, and then wax it over, it shouldn't cause you any problems.

Oh yeah - and David is right about one thing - don't smoke

I personally wouldnt use gas because it will strip clearcoat. But thats just me. Ill stick with my wet newspapers or rags.

You sure about that? You know how sometimes gas spills when you fill your tank? Happened only once with my new P5 so far and from what I can see when I clean it off later in the day, there is no problems with the finish. I would think that clear coat is much more durable than what you imagine.
