Can a shift knob change everything?

Can a shift **** change everything?
I ordered a Sparco Tecno shift **** in black and installed it yesterday night.
(On a side note, I know a lot of people hate using the "universal fit" shift ***** with the three screws. I discovered an excellent way to install them without having to mess with any glue or whatever.

I got this adapter from Lee Bohon, a Miata enthusiast, and it works with any universal fit shift **** with a 14mm opening. As a cautionary note, the adapter was designed originally for a Momo ****, and for the Sparco it's a slightly tighter fit, so you're going to have to file down the rough end of the adapter...you'll know when you see it.)
Anyways, so today I drove around all day, and you know what? Man...going from the thick, heavy stock leather shift **** (on my 2003 P5), it's like a world of difference! I was shifting smoother, faster, is it just me? Who knows. But thought I'd share my experiences with you guys. I'm thrilled with this shift **** and can see why Mazda went with it for their original 2003 Mazdaspeed Protege. Anyone looking for a shift ****, and don't like the sphere shaped ones (like me), this should be at the top of your shopping list.
Only downside? Having the Sparco Tecno only cements that fact that I need a short shifter. Since it's a little bit taller than the stock ****, throws seem a little bit longer. BUT....got a TWM Performance short shifter on order! Next week could not come any sooner! I'm dying to install it. I'll let you guys know how everything goes, and if you'd like pictures, I'd be happy to oblige.

Sounds good. Do you have any pics? Aftermarket ***** are usually pretty sweet. I am going to order a MOMO **** pretty soon or just paint the stock one black.
