Fellow Protege Owners:

I'm new here and maybe this topic has been discussed before. So please do bear with me. I need some help on getting the cassette player for my 2001 Protege LX 2.0. I already have the CD player and radio, just need to add the cassette player. My dealer is quoting $250! Is there any place I can get a better price? What other options do I have? Sorry but I'm newbie regarding car audio. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

IIRC, the company is called US Spec...they make changers to work with OEM decks and also sell & repair OEM decks. Sorry no phone or website handy, but they may be cheaper. I could see what my wholesale price is on one, if you wish. Contact me privately.

 

You could wait until you visit Canada, and get it here. $226 Canadian at one local dealership here, ($259 with taxes). That's about $170 U.S. out of your pocket.
