CD stuck in stock stereo 2001 Protege LX
Hi, I'm a new member. Sorry to post a help question right off the bat!
I have a 2001 Protege LX with a stock stereo system (I bought the car brand new from the dealer). A week or two ago, I popped a CD into the CD player and it started "skipping". The CD went in and just starts spinning continuously without playing music. Pushing eject seems to do nothing. So right now it's just stuck in the player, and spins when I goto the CD player mode without playing any music.
Important note!: Actually by "stock stereo" I mean OEM. It is not the original stereo deck that came with the car. A couple years ago the LED screen on the stereo went blank for the volume control display and I got it replaced under warranty. So the stereo deck right now is a replacement, but made by the dealer.
I'm wondering what my options are to get this CD out. Should I remove the entire stereo deck to try to get the CD out? Is there some way I can do it without removing the deck? Unfortunately, I am not experienced with tinkering inside the car (noob), but if someone posts a how-to guide I can gladly follow it. I looked inside the owner's manual and it doesn't say anything about stereo deck removal.
Thanks!
I can post pictures of what the stereo looks like as well.
