Choosing among spoilers

I have been choosing a spoiler for my 02 LX. Now, I have come down to a few choices:

1, 00-02 Mitsibushi Galant factory spoiler
2, 95-98 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS factory spoiler (4-5 inches high)
3, Universal touring spoiler
4, 02-03 RSX Type-R spoiler
5, Saleen style double deck spoiler
6, 99-01 Civic SI spoiler (3 to 4 inches high)
7, MP3 styled Wingswest spoiler
8, 99-01 Integra Type-R spoiler
9, 02-03 TRD styled universal spoiler (like the one on a 02 Celica)

Which one do you think will look good? Or, if you have to choose, which one will you pick?

It really all depends on what it looks like with the car. I would stay away from the spoilers that look like hands on the back for pushing your car (eg: Integra Type R spoiler) but that's just my personal opinion. I too like the Terminator spoiler, and the Celica one (if I'm thinking of the right one) is cool, but I don't know who good those will look on the Pro.

Also IMO there is not need for a huge wing on a front wheel drive car. But if you like the look and want to drop the cash go for it, to each his own.

.....or a rear wheel drive car for that matter - if it's just a regular street car, it's all for looks, no matter how the power gets to the ground - unless you're driving well over 100 MPH

Believe it or not, that nasty wing on my car actually helps to stabilise it when I am drving on the highway. I used to hate having my car wobble like crazy when I drove by a semi, but the wing stops the wobbling, even on my front wheel drive car. So it is functional and not just decoration..(ha ha Im making my car sound like a cake)
C'mon foxy - that's all in your head, IMO. That big ol' wing does nothing. If you like it, more power to you - but it's gonna be a hard sell convincing anyone that it actually functions and is a performance add-on.

correct, the rear window on a car will actually create lift, spoilers will counteract this, the bigger the spoiler the better it will work at low speeds but only if your spoiler is tuned, most "Ricer" spoilers are just for looks and do jack ****, but adjustable alum., spoilers however ugly they may be (assume they are setup right) will help stabalize your car even if you have a FWD car. don't give me that BS "FWD DO NOT NEED SPOILERS!" that is stupid and ignorant

Well I'm glad you feel my opinion is "stupid and ignorant" but really the only thing I think is stupid is some dude with a civic that he's trying to make look like a funny-car. And ignorant is calling someone's opinion (who may know less about aerodynamics, although if I want to increase traction on the backend of my car I'll put a bag of salt in my trunk...voila $5.00 and my performance has just increased) "stupid and ignorant". I was just voicing an opinion, not the facts. I don't have any in depth understanding of the areo dynamics of a car but in my opinion...a giant wing is about as functional as a hood scope on a fiero!

No worries Foxy, my post wasn't directed at you. I don't want to deter you from what you like either. If the wing is your thing then go with it. It's not my bag so I'm staying away.

i know what you mean though, practiacly every civic i have seen has a "NON" functional spoiler 10ft high.. its rediculous, ive only seen a real adjustable alum. spoiler like twice and that was at a TRACK! as for daily driving you really don't need one, its only if you race on a track,

I believe that this discussion maybe a little to heated but here is my two cents on this...

The person who is modifying their vehicle is doing this for their own purpose. Even though you do not like seeing this on another vehicle, their should be no reason on why you should bash another person's opinions. If they state that the modification helps them stay on the road. Then "the modification helps them to stay on the road" by my books.

As to wing type, I believe that you should get the wing that best suits your personality and driving habits. Do some "photo-chopping" and compare which wing that goes well with your vehicle. Just remember not to add to "flamboyant" of a wing to your vehicle. I have seen to many Corolla's with Type R badges and Supra wings superglued to the back of their trunks.
This is what you want to stay away from.

Later.

THANK YOU!!! I dont think ANYONE should tell me that my wing doesnt help my car until you drive it and actually experience it! I think I know what my car drives like and I can tell when there is something wrong with it, and when I say that the wing stabilizes it I am going beyond science and reason and telling you the truth or my car and how it drives!!!!!
Exactly...
