Clay Bar

Clay Bar
I washed my car for the first time in over two weeks today, yipee. It turned 30K a few days ago so I thought I'd do something special before I take it in for its 30K service. After I washed the car, I used the Mother's Clay Bar kit. It works pretty well! Afterwards the paint was very smooth to the touch and I could tell it removed some blemishes from the paint. I didn't have time to apply some 3M Imperial Hand Glaze/3M Wax like I had planned; it was already getting dark. Anyone else a detailing fanatic?

My fanatacism consists of paying the body shop where my girlfriend works $75 for a full interior/exterior detail.
I hate detailing in the cold, and besides - when I do it myself, all I do is get frustrated about all the imperfections that keep showing up from the road.
BTW, anyone else use the 3M clear "bra" type material? I'm looking into this option because of the miles I drive and such.
At xPel.com they DO have a full front bumper and hood (front edge) kit for the p5 - pre-cut and ready to install. About $350 total if I remember correctly. They also sell un-cut material by-the-foot for custom installs - I plan on doing my rear bumper also - getting sick of the parking garage ******** backing my car into other cars and giving me little dings - I actually almost had to sue one place - they're paying me $300 for the damage they did.
Oh, XPel also has those clear 3M light covers that guarantee against stone damage. 1" stone at 120MPH guarantee - pretty impressive. Their kit includes pieces for the headlamps AND fogs.
