Cleaning the interior woes

With the recent change in the weather I decided to do some "spring cleaning" for the Pro. I ran out of the ArmorAll cleaning wipes I usually use so I went to the closest auto parts store which happened to be Advantage Auto Parts. I found the wipes and noticed that Advantage had their own brand of wipes. They had 35 wipes per container compared to ArmorAll's 25 and cost $1.00 less. Considering I only had a couple of bucks on me at the time I thought "Hey, why not? How bad could they be?" (Yes, those are omnious words) So I get home and clean out the Pro and start wiping down the interior. These new wipes were terrible! They were absolutely drenched in a viscous soap that didn't spread out very well. It reminded me of hair mousse. I had to wring them out in order to use them without having to use a paper towel to clean up after using them. After I finished cleaning the end result looked ok. A few days later I noticed that the finish on the dash was spotty and uneven. Also, the windshield now had a layer of film on the inside. Apparently the cleaner in these wipes degassed and was now on the inside of my windshield! What the hell? I never had a problem with the ArmorAll wipes before, but I decided to pinch a penny and wound up paying for it. I bought some ArmorAll wipes and recleaned the interior. What a difference! No spottiness on the dash, no fogged-up windshield and a nice clean look. Sometime it doesn't pay to save a buck!

I have the dealership's First Place, and Armor All wipes will leave it blotchy because of the reaction to the 1st Place I am assuming. I had to wipe it down with the 1st place several times before it finally looked good once again.

I am almost out, but am not getting the 1st place **** again because it is too expensive.

Take them back and tell them the wipes were crap and get your money back.

So what does that 1st Place typically cost? I picked up a large container of ArmorAll wipes at Walmart for $5.40.

I would've taken those other crappy wipes back to Advantage, but I didn't feel like yelling at a guy that makes hardly anything per hour about a product he had absolutely nothing to do with. Now if the wipes caused some sort of permanent discoloration, that would be a different story. The dash still looks fine, but I'm going to keep an eye on it just in case.

I have no idea. I bought it in a kit, but used the wash and wax twice (it's really nice), but I can imagine it is OVER PRICED. Any thing from the dealer is. Once people were looking for the MP3's Kenwood head unit and the dealer charged almost $200 more than if you went to an authorized Kenwood dealer and bought the exact same Kenwood unit.
