in-dash lcd/kenwood install?(Help!)
(Pics on Bottom)Ok sorry for the long post but I need help and need to figure this out.How do i connect these together? Here is the run down. I have a 2002 ES. I'm installing a Kenwood Head Unit(KDC MPV7019) and a Sony In-Dash Lcd(XAV-7W). How do i integrate the wiring from the sony and kenwood? I figured i can just solder both the Kenwood and the Sony wires into the Metra Harness, but would this reduce sound quality when doing this to the speaker l/r +&- wires? I also need an opinion on setup. Which one should be my main unit? Or should i just run them independently?
The Kenwood has A pair of left and right output Rca Female Jacks along with a Non-Fading Output, and the Sony has an Audio/Video Input box with 3 different Video/Audio L/Audio R in connections. So the way i understand it, If i connect the Sony LCD to the metra harness , and just run the Kenwood through the Sony, i won't be able to hear all four speakers when rocking the Kenwood(Because the Sony Input Box only has a L/R audio in) which would defeat it's purpose. So the only other way i see i can do this is Soldering the wires from the sony and the kenwood onto the metra harness.(In which case, both units would be able to function independtly and would share the speakers, but of course i would only listen to one a time)
So my questions are:
1.If i wire it so that both units share the speakers, would this reduce sound quality?(Even though i would only use one at a time)
2.If you look at the attached pic of the Kenwood harness, you can see that the Blue/White(P.Cont) and the Orange/White(Illumi) wires are "looped" so there is no exposed wire. Do i need to connect these two wires? If i do, do i just cut the wire at the loop?
3. Where's a good place to ground the black wire on the Sony harness? I can't wire it to the metra harness right?
4.I plan on getting a subwoofer soon, how can i adjust it so that both units would share the subwoofer too. Thanks in advance to you experts who reply

ok i just looked up the specs on those products, sell your kenwood unit or get your money back and either buy a in dash dvd player with no power output, or get your money back on both products and buy and in dash dvd player with indash lcd screen. from www.ikesound.com you can get the pioneer dvd/lcd player for 1300 bucks.
but to answer your earlier questions, ground everthing together on the wiring harness. you can run the power wires as well on the same harness. those wires you are looking at aren't looped, its are remote amp power, power intena and illumation. some systems don't require those to be connected so they tape them for you so they won't ground out. whatever you do, don't hook up both HU's to the speakers, this will cause both units to shut off, possible blow the speakers b/c of the ohm difference, andcould ruin you HU's.

would that happen even if i only used one at a time? How do people with an in-dash lcd/cd player have their setup?
So how bout if i wire the speakers to the sony lcd harness....and run the output jacks from the back of the kenwood to the input jacks on the sony av box. If i use a 2 to 1 rca cable i can have all four speakers work when i listen to music on the kenwood right?

first off, don't get me wrong i love both your products you would have to have one unit completely off to work with the speakers. on a normal setup, you only use the indash monitor as a in dash monitor. you wouldn't need to use the y cables, you could just run the non-fading channel(sub output) and just make sure you had all the low.high pass filters off. most people who can't afford indash dvd/lcd montors have a good HU that does the audio output, a indash lcd monitor(or mount a monitor on the dash) and a seperate dvd/mp3 player hidden under a seat or in the glove box. the video output goes to the monotir and the audio goes to the HU. BUT if you want surround sound in either a 4.1 or 5.1 then you would have to buy a indash dvd player with 3 to 6 sets of rca outputs or have a dvd player that has optical out that runs into a surrond sound processor that is controlled by the HU. the sony indash lcd player you bought was designed for a seperate dvd player that just has one set of rca outputs on it and dump evertying to the sony and let it do the rest. for the setup you have, you kinda spent a lot of money incorrectly. instead of having a indash lcd with a internal amp, you could of bought just a indash lcd tv-l9000 for 1/2 the price. now saying your spend 1k on the sony and atlest 200 for the kenwood, that around 1200 bucks give or take, depending on where you purchased it. vxr 835 is 1300 bucks and has a indasl lcd, dvd player and internal amp. pioneer indash dvd/lcd players
you have good equipment, you just kind of purchased the wrong components for what you needed.
if you keep what you have, just send audio into the sony and let it do all the work.
