Different Tint.

Is there like a certain brand of tint that doesn't fade? I've had a 20% tint on my car for about 3 years now and it's startin' to fade. I need to re-do it but do these things come in brands and which one would be better? I wanna go as dark as I possibly can. What's the darkest tint out there?

Here in the US 5% is the lowest, it's called Limo tint. When I got mine tinted I was talking to one of the girls that work at the shop. She said she has limo tint and even after time that faded to where you could see in. It wasn't clear as can be but it definetly was not as dark as it used to be. So from her own experience and from what I have seen, all tint will fade eventually. I went with the top quality make 3M, but I have only had it for a couple of months so I can't say if it will fade or not.

Yeah I did a bit of readin' and found that tint will fade. But I would have liked to know which brand is best at not fading for a long time like maybe 5 years. This tint i put on took about 3 years until it started to fade. I guess it's mainly because it's always mostly in the sun. I think we have 5% tint here too, it's called g5. I might just go with that.

Colored tint looks cool but I won't put colored tint on my car.

I talked to the lady about color too, because my brother wanted to put blue on his lancer. She said color tint scratches very easily and it fades very quickly. It's mostly used on cars that are primarily for show and don't get alot of road use. She said the car should be garage kept or you would have to put a cover on the car every time you park outside in the daylight. That's not worth the hassle for a DD, if you ask me. I admit it looks good on certain cars, but I'd stay away from it if I were you.

Most shops that do tint offer a lifetime warranty against scratching, fading, and bubbling. Just pick a tint you like and take it back to be redone for free every few years.

I know that the color tint around here they won't garauntee against scratching or fading, that's why it's not worth unless you have a true show car. But even on regular tint, if you read the fine print, you have to pay for removal witch cost will depend on the company.

I had to take mine back 2 weeks after they installed mine due to bubbling and a wrinkle. They replaced those two windows free of charge because it had to do with installation. But if I were to come back a year later they'd say pay up or deal with it. Atleast that's how it is with this company and they are one of the best in MD, D&L Window Tinting.
