I'm on the verge of buying these speakers. They look good on paper, but they aren't very expensive. Has anyone any experience with VOLFENHAG SUBWOOFERS. They're all over Ebay. I'm actually going to use them in a DIY home theatre subwoofer.
Thanks, Rich

i would not use those in my home hell not even in my car! What kinda $$ are you wanting to spend? There are better products for home audio like stryke and adire.

You get what you pay for and in your case, you are taking a huge risk getting a pair of speakers or subwoofer you never heard. Stick with what you know is best and do the research via internet or word of mouth. It's confusing as hell, but you will save yourself grief, money, and a bad headache from listening to bad speakers over an extended length of time.

IMHO - there is nothing wrong with cheaper stuff - it has its place in the market, for sure.
When yo think about it, bass is easier to produce in the home - if for no other reason, because there is no other noise (road noise, engine noise, etc) to get in the way.
I have found that cheaper equipment usually just doesn't take abuse the same as more expensive stuff (read: better built stuff, not always more expensive, but you know what I mean).
Case in point is the $20 Kenwood sub in my wife's Jeep right now - it has GREAT sound quality, but you can't overpower it. It won't take the abuse. But at moderate volume levels, her bass sounds better than mine right now - and I have 500 watts pushing a heavy Rockford sub! My enclosure is all wrong, too - so the woofer won't perform correctly.
If you can afford to waste the cash, give it a shot. As long as you don't plan on abusing it too hard, you might be very pleasantly surprised.
